"Hanad" means Skilled, Talented, Accomplished — that is already who you are.
We are building a free mobile learning app designed for women entrepreneurs in Somalia and Somaliland. Learn at your own pace, even without internet, in Somali, English, or Arabic — with audio support so reading is never a barrier.
We are putting the final touches on something built just for you
HANAD is a free mobile learning app created for women entrepreneurs across Somalia and Somaliland. Whether you run a small shop in Mogadishu, sell produce along the Juba River, or manage a business in Hargeisa — HANAD was built with you in mind.
You will learn business skills, financial literacy, and marketing through short engaging lessons — in your own language, with audio so reading is never a barrier. Download your lessons and study anywhere, even without internet.
Whether you are just starting out or already running a business, HANAD meets you exactly where you are — with lessons designed for real life in Somalia and Somaliland.
"I want to keep proper records and learn how to save for the future."
"My salon is growing fast. I need to understand pricing and how to hire my first employee."
"I make and sell food from home. I want to learn digital marketing and reach more customers."
Powerful features designed around how women in Somalia and Somaliland actually live, work, and learn.
The HANAD project was born from a simple truth: millions of women in Somalia and Somaliland have the drive and resilience to run thriving businesses — but lack access to practical, affordable business education.
Funded by the European Union through the e-WINS Project and commissioned by ADRA Somalia, HANAD is delivered by Iskills Info Technologies — a Somali-founded technology company endorsed by the Ministry of Education, with teams across Mogadishu, Kismayo, Nairobi, and Delhi.
This is not a generic app translated into Somali. Every lesson, every word, and every feature was designed from the ground up for women in these three corridors — accounting for connectivity challenges, literacy levels, cultural context, and the real daily realities of Somali women in business.
A collaboration between international development funders and local Somali expertise
When HANAD launches, getting started will be as simple as it gets.
HANAD speaks your language — and if reading is difficult, you can listen instead. Every lesson is fully narrated so you can follow along just by listening.
Register your interest today and we will notify you the moment HANAD is ready to download — and give you early access to our first free course before the public launch.
